EALING'S new estate agency arrived in town with a headline grabbing business incentive.

Dexters' introductory offer to waive fees for sellers and landlords who instruct their new branch next to Ealing Broadway station has had an amazing response.

"It's a bit manic but we don't mind," reported sales director Derek Fletcher after Tuesday's official opening. The offer lasts three months. "We can't wait for the time to rush by," laughed the boss.

Dexters was founded 13 years ago when the agents took over a former kitchen showroom in Twickenham. The company now has 200 employees and a network of 20 sales and lettings offices stretching across west London into Surrey.

Group MD Jeff Doble says an amazing 70 per cent of the business comes through personal recommendation.

Although Dexters' name is new to Ealing, the director in charge of the office is not. "It's where I started out in estate agency 23 years ago," said Derek.

"I've lived and worked in west London for decades. I know it inside out."

He says the key to a successful sale is getting the price right. "I'm one of those who believe inflation will be between three and five per cent this year. The market is stable which is encouraging first time buyers back. Without them, there's no movement further up the chain. We're very busy. We're taking a lot of properties on, both to sell and quality rentals. It's good news all round."
