HAREFIELD United are on the hunt for the next generation of women footballers after receiving a £3,000 Grow the Game grant.
The scheme, funded by The Football Association and delivered by the Football Foundation, will enable the Hares to create two new female teams, one at youth level.
Grow the Game involves grants of £1,500 to community clubs wishing to create new teams, especially among under-represented groups.
The money helps towards the costs of FA coaching courses, league affiliation costs, referees’ fees, first-aid boxes, football kit and equipment.
Ray Green, club secretary, said: “We are starting up two teams this season with a focus on women’s football which has been missing at our club."
