Mark Bitmead’s penalty helped Uxbridge climb to third in the Isthmian South Central Division as they beat South Park 1-0 to get back to winning ways.

Bitmead scored his eighth league goal of the season from the spot in the 33rd minute after he was upended when breaking into the box.

The visitors had the ball in the net again in the second half but Mahlondo Martin’s effort was adjudged to be offside and the frustration for hosts South Park came to tell when substitute Joshua Adusei was sent off.

The result got Uxbridge back to winning ways after they were defeated 3-2 at Northwood when attempting to record their eighth straight win of the season.

It also leaves them third in the table, five points behind league leaders Hanwell Town.

Elsewhere, Hillingdon Borough beat Langford 3-2 as their upward trajectory in Division One of the Spartan South Midlands League continued.

Goals from Ash Hunt, Gursewak Jagdev and Marcus Lansiquot gave Hillingdon their fourth win from their last six matches and Ciprian Pintilie’s side now sit 13th having been in the relegation zone for much of the early part of the campaign.
