Scott McTominay may return to the Manchester United squad to face Watford on Sunday, while Odion Ighalo could be in line to make his full Red Devils debut against his former club.
The midfielder has been sidelined since sustaining a ligament problem in the Boxing Day win over Newcastle United, but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has suggested the Scotland international may return sooner than expected and could feature against the Hornets.
“I think he might be in the squad,” the United boss said following last night’s Europa League 1-1 draw at Club Brugge.
“Scott had a rest day today, so let’s see how he is tomorrow.”
Mason Greenwood missed the trip to Belgium through illness and Solskjaer was uncertain whether he will have recovered for this weekend's Premier League clash. If the young striker is ruled out, it could mean Ighalo will make his first United start against his former club following substitute appearances against Chelsea and Brugge.
Solskjaer said: “Everyone says that [players raise their game] against their old team when they score, but there are also many games when you don’t score.
“Odion is getting more and more minutes, but [whether he starts] depends on Mason as well of course, and how Anthony [Martial] is [after playing on Thursday].”
The Nigerian, who scored 36 goals in a total of 90 league appearances for Watford, was a shock deadline day loan signing for the club he has supported since boyhood as they sought to strengthen their forward options after losing Marcus Rashford with a back injury.
