Saracens star Billy Vunipola says he is honoured to make his 150th appearance for the club against Worcester Warriors in the Gallagher Premiership on Saturday.

Vunipola, 29, first joined the club in 2013 and has since won the games’ biggest prizes at club level, with three Champions Cups and four top-flight domestic titles already on the CV.

But ahead of what is set to be a landmark appearance for the powerful No.8, he added that the current squad are determined to win even more over the next few seasons.

The Sarries make the trip up the M1 to face the Warriors on their own stomping ground, safe in the knowledge that a top four slot already assured, but Mark McCall’s men will be keen to maintain momentum after a 38-22 win over Exeter last week.

And Vunipola says he is motivated to make this season a memorable one.

“It’s a massive honour for me to bring up the 150 (appearances) at Saracens,” he said.

“We’ve had some incredible moments together as a group and we’re as motivated as ever to create even more in the coming years.”

Director of Rugby McCall makes three changes to the starting XV from the side that confirmed a semi-final place last week, with Andy Christie, Rotimi Segun and Max Malins all returning.

Eroni Mawi, Jamie George and Vincent Koch start together in the well-functioning front-row, with Nick Isiekwe and Theo McFarland combining in the second-row.

Skipper Owen Farrell will continue at fly-half following his successful return from injury, having spent most of the season on the shelf.

The Saracens captain led the fightback in the win over the Chiefs, with McCall delighted to have him back in the team as we reach a critical point in the season.

“Owen’s kicking, passing and offloading were phenomenal. He was outstanding in terms of what he did, but he was also incredible emotionally. He drove the comeback,” McCall said when asked about Farrell’s performance last week.

“He hasn’t played many games for us in the Premiership, so it’s great to have him back.

“I don’t think he feels he’s quite on top of his game because he hasn’t played much recently, but he looked OK out there to me. He’s going to get better.”
