WORK is underway on a new multi-storey tower block which will dominate Ealing’s skyline.
The building, called the Apex, will be a 250ft 20-storey tower containing 127 apartments and penthouses in Uxbridge Road, close to the town centre and 10 minutes' walk from Ealing Broadway station.
Developers Frogmore also plan to build a 111-bed hotel in the block.
David Highton, chair of West Ealing Neighbours, said: “I just hope there is sufficient space, not just for the hotel but for the apartments as well. The building is at such an early stage that it’s too early to say what kind of impact it will have.”
Ealing Council also has a plan to revitalise the town centre by building 3,600 new homes and adding shops and leisure sites.
The new-look Ealing should be completed by early 2015.
