THE daily commute can be a nightmare, but for one charity campaigner it became even more hellish in the form of a 26-ou gruelling trek from Oxford to London.
Sam Barlow, 31, is trekking in support of the FGM charity, 28 Too Many, from his Oxford workplace to his Clapham home.
He began his trek at 3pm yesterday and passed through Hillingdon and Southall this afternoon (Friday).
He said: “Every pound raised will keep me going when it gets to 5am and there are still another 12 hours to go.”
Dr Ann-Marie Wilson, 28 Too Many executive director , said: “We are impressed that Sam has learned about FGM (female genital mutilation), researched how he can help and found a simple but effective way to make a difference.
“We will be cheering him on every step of his walk.”
According to a recent report, as many as 66,000 girls aged 13 and under are at risk in the UK.
