PUPILS and teachers at Bishopshalt School in Royal Lane, Hillingdon, made it count for children by celebrating the NSPCC’s Number Day.

Pupils were encouraged to come dressed as a ‘number’ for a donation to charity.

They and staff dressed up in Onesies, 118 118 and even R2D2!

Pupils in the lower school got involved in a treasure hunt around the school, which involved finding members of staff to work out what number they were dressed as!

The money raised is still being totted up, but so far Bishopshalt has collected more than £2,000 for charity.

Number Day activities help the NSPCC to protect children all year round through its projects and services, including ChildLine, the UK’s free, confidential 24-hour helpline for children and young people.

David Reyner, deputy head of maths and organiser of Number Day at Bishopshalt, said: “It was a great way for children of all ages and abilities to engage with maths and support a good cause while having fun.

“I couldn’t believe how much the staff and pupils got involved in the day and I can’t wait for next year. I already have some ideas to make it bigger and better!’'
