A HILLINGDON nursery nurse has scooped healthcare support worker of the year at a NHS awards ceremony.
Amanda Sylvan, of Ruislip, was chosen to receive the Central London Community Healthcare (CLCH) trophy, showing her work had made a significant difference to the lives of the patients she cares for.
Ms Sylvan, 30, said: “It’s a true honour, considering I work with an amazing team of people who all work to a very high standard and are dedicated to their role.
“I was absolutely shocked to be nominated and then win in that category!”
Ms Sylvan was credited for being hard working, determined, engaging and a fantastic team player who regularly came up with new ideas.
She added: “It is incredibly rewarding to follow the journey with the families I work with, empowering them to make change and progress in various areas of their child’s development.”
Chair of CLCH Pam Chesters said: “These awards are an opportunity to celebrate our staff and recognise the high quality standard of care they deliver to so many patients in the community.
“The standard of nominations for this year’s awards was fantastic and is a testament to their dedication and commitment.”
There were a total of 18 categories in this year’s awards. For other winners see www.clch.nhs.uk
