A DOG-LOVER will show his dedication to the animals by bungee jumping 170ft.

Beau-Jensen McCubbin, 22, of Harrow, will make the jump from a crane suspended above Windsor to raise money and awareness for the Retired Greyhound Trust (RGT), a national charity which homes greyhounds once their racing days are over.

Beau, who works for a betting company, said: "Having worked in the racing business, I wanted to give something back to the animals that make my job possible. I have a dog myself, a 14-week-old Shih Tzu puppy called Rufus-Boo, so I know what great companions dogs can be."

"Greyhounds are extremely loving and loyal, but often get forgotten about when their career is over.

"The RGT does a great job and raising money and awareness is one way I can show my admiration."

Beau will make the jump on June 30 and is hoping to raise £600 for the charity, which works with volunteers all over the country to prove that greyhounds can make good pets.

Director of the RGT Ivor Stocker said: "Unfortunately, greyhounds suffer from a certain stigma that comes from racing: that they are boisterous dogs, too energetic to be kept domestically.

"However, this is simply untrue, greyhounds can make placid and incredibly friendly family pets at any stage in their life that, despite popular belief, do not require extraordinary amounts of exercise and walking.

"We are delighted that Beau is helping to pass on this message to the local community."
