WITH Britain’s winters getting colder and wetter, 44% of parents in Hillingdon fear they are losing the battle to keep their kids moving as screen time takes over from physical exercise.

A new study from Fusion Lifestyle, a charity providing sport, leisure and fitness to communities, revealed that nearly two-thirds of parents feel they should do more to bring the family together from January-March.

Only one in ten say they regularly do things together as a family at this time of year.

Behavioural psychologist Dr Simon Moore says one of the biggest problems we face in our tech-driven lives is losing connection with others around us.

“This isolation can have a serious impact on our long-term physical and mental health,” he said.

With this in mind, family-fitness experts at Fusion are building on their range of activities.

In addition to family swimming and junior gym sessions, Fusion has teamed up with Badminton England to launch new family classes in a bid to get families fit together.

No Strings is a weekly turn-up-and-play badminton session for families, now available at Hillingdon Sports and Leisure Complex in Uxbridge.

Until the end of March, Fusion is offering new family joiners 50% off their first month’s membership, with no joining fee.  Visit www.fusion-lifestyle.com/offers/family-offers for more information.
