An annual festival is just around the corner and organisers are looking for members of the public to get involved.

Ricky Week, celebrating the town of Rickmansworth, will begin on May 12 and will run until Sunday May 20.

It will involve the annual parade and Rickmansworth feature but there will be a new feature and the Rickmansworth Society need your nominations.

This year, there will be no 'Miss Rickmansworth'.

Instead, organisers would like to honour two young people who would be recipients of the Young Ricky Champion award.

The award is open for children and teenagers between the ages of 10 and 18 and they should be from Rickmansworth or the surrounding areas.

The nominee may have won an incredible award in the last year, excelled at school, or battled through a tough year and come out a stronger person.

Organisers want to crown a boy and a girl to be named Young Ricky Champion and nominees will be judged by members of the Rickmansworth Society. The winners will lead the parade on May 12.

It is not too late to join the Young Ricky Champions on the parade.

If you would like to be a part of the parade, email parade@rickmansworthsociety.org

The deadline for both is April 23.
