THE first baby delivered on New Year’s Day at Hillingdon Hospital was a boy, so far un-named, to mother Priya Hans, 28, and father Pritpal Singh, 33, from Hayes.
He was born at 7.37am and weighed 7.99lb, delivered by midwife Priscilla Baffour. The little boy is a brother for Arnab Gill, aged 15 months.
As is tradition, a basket of gifts was given to the family.
Krissy Moore, Labour Ward Co-Ordinator at the time, said: “Everyone working in the department feels a sense of hope and expectation for the year ahead. The safe arrival of the first little one gets the year off to a happy start.
“We look forward to giving excellent care to the more than 4,000 mothers and their new babies we expect to look after at Hillingdon in 2023.”
Priya said: “I’m feeling very blessed with a baby born on New Year’s Day. He came really quickly and the staff made it much easier for me.”
