HILLINGDON’S Holiday Activities and Food programme is returning on Monday, April 3.

It aims to provide a range of free activities, food and refreshments to eligible children and young people during the Easter school holidays.

The council-run scheme has a total of 5,756 free places available on activities including film-making, life skills, cycling, coding, football and canoeing, and will run from Monday to Thursday, April 3-6, and Tuesday-Friday, April 11-14.

Sessions take place at venues around the borough and are free to families receiving benefits-related free school meals.

They will automatically receive an email with a unique access code to use to book sessions via the council’s website.

More than 1,000 children and young people took part in the HAF winter programme, which ran during the Christmas holidays across 25 locations in Hillingdon, including leisure centres, schools, community centres and Brunel University.

The programme also provided camps and activities for young people with special educational needs and disabilities.

During the winter programme, 250 at-home cookery packs containing enough ingredients for a family of four to have a range of balanced meals for five days were distributed.

Cllr Susan O’Brien, Hillingdon Cabinet Member for Children, Families and Education, said: “HAF is making a real difference to families in Hillingdon.”
