Hair and Beauty students from Uxbridge College showcased some stunning looks at the Fashion Forward event sponsored by Goldwell and Dennis Williams on May 25.

The catwalk show at the Hayes Community Campus gave the trainees a chance to express their creativity and demonstrate their skills in front of an audience.

They looked at past and present fashion trends from around the globe, ranging from the iconic Little Black Dress to current trends such as New Rave and the urban scene.

Each student created a total look including hair, make up and costume – and they also acted as models for each other’s work.

Ken Sage, Goldwell’s College Division Manager, said: “What a spectacular show, it was the most upbeat College show that I have ever attended from start to finish.

"It was quite unique in as much as each Hair & Beauty students did everything right down to creating their own choreography.

"I felt I had been to a carnival, and was quite exhausted by the end of the evening and I was just a member of the audience! I can’t wait for next year’s show - congratulations to all.”

Roger Withers, Regional Sales Manger for Dennis Williams, said: “Dennis Williams is really proud to be associated with Uxbridge College’s creative and dynamic Fashion Forward show.

"The students did a fantastic job of bringing together their excellent technical skills and creative inspiration in this stunning show.

"It’s really exciting to see the stylists of the future in action, and I am looking forward to seeing how their careers progress.”

Derry Moody, Head of Hair & Beauty at Uxbridge College, said: “This event must be one of the most colourful shows around and is a terrific opportunity for our students to respond to both the technical and creative demands of the industry.

"We’re very grateful to Goldwell and Dennis Wiliams for sponsoring this event.”

Canapes cooked by the college’s catering and hospitality students were served with drinks in Revisco restaurant during the break.
