PEOPLE over 65 in Hillingdon will again be able to borrow electric heaters in an emergency this winter.
The short-term loans will be offered to pensioners living in their own homes if they have a heating breakdown.
A one-off grant is also available to cover electricity costs during the loan, up to a maximum of £45 for any one period.
Last year, 17 people were helped by the scheme, which is funded through council leader Ray Puddifoot's Older People's Initiative.
He said: "Any vulnerable older resident who needs to borrow heaters can make one phone call and we can send them out."
