AN Uxbridge nightclub will remain open, despite its parent company’s financial troubles.

Luminar LTD, which owns the Liquid nightclub in the High Street, went into administration last week after it reportedly lost £198m in the year to February.

But there are currently no job losses planned at Liquid, even though 11 of Luminar’s 76 clubs are closing in places like Brighton, Northampton and Swindon.

Administrators are now looking for a buyer for Milton Keynes-based Luminar’s 65 remaining clubs - including Liquid – which employ around 2,500 people in the UK.

A spokesperson for administrators Ernst & Young said: "Although the parent company is in administration and have unfortunately had to close a small number of clubs, most of our clubs, including Liquid in Uxbridge, will be open for the foreseeable future."

Luminar previously claimed to be the UK’s biggest club owner, with the largest capacity by square foot in the country.
