SHOP fronts across Hillingdon are being replaced in a bid to rejuvenate ailing high streets and encourage more people to visit the borough.
More than 100 shops in Northwood Hills, Ruislip Manor and Hayes received grants from Hillingdon Council, in partnership with the Mayor of London.
The three shopping centres have been the focus of a three-year rejuvenation programme, which has also included alterations to pavements and roads.
It is hoped the scheme will encourage more people to rediscover the areas, as well as attracting new businesses.
Manor Butchers in Ruislip Manor was the 100th shop front to be installed, after a collaborate effort between the shop and designers to create the new sign.
Owner Ian Hallam said: “Without a doubt I think the fresh appearance has had a positive impact on business because it feels busier in here.”
So far, more than 90 per cent of the traders receiving new shop fronts agree the changes have made a positive difference.
