OLLIE HART, a member of the Home Instead Senior Care team in Ruislip, is running the Ealing Half Marathon on September 24 to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society.
Ollie, 21, is aiming to complete the race in under two hours andhas been training every night after work and using his weekends to cram in extra runs.
He explained: “Here at Home Instead, many of our clients are living with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia. We understand the importance of raising awareness of the condition in the hope that we create a more dementia-friendly place in which to live.
“I have been working really hard on my training and already noticing a difference. I’m feeling much healthier and able to run further than ever before. The half-marathon has become a real goal for me and I’m delighted to be raising money for such a worthy cause.”
The Ealing Half, now in its sixth year, has been expanded to accommodate 7,000 runners, who are usually watched by 30,000 people lining the streets.
