A MAN who admitted causing the deaths of three teenagers through dangerous driving was jailed for a total of 13 years at the Old Bailey today (Wednesday).

Jaynesh Chudasama, 28, of Hayes, was initially sentenced to 20 years and six months. This was then reduced to 13 years for entering an early guilty plea. Chudasama is also disqualified from driving for 13 years and six months.

He had pleaded guilty to three counts of causing death by dangerous driving at the same court in February.

It was on the evening of Friday, January 26, that 17-year-old Harry Louis Rice, George Toby Wilkinson, 16, and Josh McGuiness, 16, were walking along the pavement with friends in Shepiston Lane, Harlington, on their way to a birthday party.

An Audi A5 containing two occupants travelling east mounted the pavement at an estimated 71mph and mowed down the boys. Harry, George and Josh died at the scene.

Both occupants of the car fled on foot, but Chudasama, the driver, was detained by passers-by. He was arrested at the scene.

Det Supt Andy Cox said: "Chudasama took the decision that evening to drive at excess speed while under the influence of alcohol - a decision that resulted in the death of three young men.

"He has [now] been jailed for his actions. While this will be of little comfort to the families of George, Josh and Harry, I hope this acts as a stark reminder to others of the devastating consequences that dangerous driving can have."
