KHALIQ MIAH says signing to compete in one of boxing’s newest competitions is a dream come true.

The 20-year-old West Drayton middleweight will compete for the first time in the televised Queensbury Boxing League at Epsom Downs Racecourse against Londoner Joel “Smoke” Wanderema on May 9.

Miah, a former amateur stand-out, who represented West Ham ABC in four senior finals, has built up an impressive record outside the amateur ranks.

He has racked up 30 wins against one controversial loss, and the talented young prospect believes he has all the attributes needed to become a major star in the competition, to be screened on British Eurosport.

“I believe I’ve got the style to mix it with the very best and I’m ready to get the crowd rocking on my debut and get people talking about me,” he said.

Miah’s opponent, Wanderema, only recently joined the show and is the only fighter to beat rising middleweight knockout specialist Faraz Akram.
