Five swimmers from Ruislip Northwood Masters Swim Squad made an impact at the recent British National Masters Swimming Championships. Lesley Cordial was crowned champion in three different events. She won the 50m butterfly, 50m backstroke and 100m IM . Cordial also scooped a bronze medal in the 100m butterfly and 100m freestyle. Stan Vela took first place in the 200m backstroke missing out on the British record by only 0.5 sec in a time of 2.19.64. Karen O'Dea secured a personal best of 32.64 in the 50m butterfly. Meanwhile, Sarah Lusher claimed two PBs. She swam the 50m breaststroke in 42.36 and finished the 100m breaststroke in 1.33.96. Wayne Hirst also had a memorable trip to Sheffield as he knocked six seconds off his PB in the 200m breaststroke with a time of 3.09.49.
