DOGS Trust West London, based in Harvil Road, Harefield, is celebrating its 500th adoption since the New Year.
Five-year-old Barnaby the greyhound was admitted to the centre in March and, after seven months in kennels, has found his special someone in Pamela Hogg, of High Wycombe.
Rehoming Centre manager Richard Moore said: “Barnaby came to us as an ex-racer, and this lovely lad has now found a forever home to call his own.

“We’re delighted that Pamela saw just how rewarding adopting an ex-racer can be. Greyhounds have the most wonderful temperaments and really thrive in the right home.
“Often the public perception of the breed is completely inaccurate. The truth is they are docile, often couch potatoes! They don’t slobber or moult and they eat the same amount of food as any other dog of similar size.”
Greyhounds still looking for their happy-ever-after include Gary, Danny, Paisley and Ellie. You can call the centre on 0300 303 0292.
